What is RS485 wiring in Sungrow SH**RS and s sh**RT inverters?
The purpose of the RS485 wiring in Sungrow SH**RS and SH**RT inverters is to allow multiple inverters to be controlled from one energy meter. As the single and 3-phase configurations are different, we will deal with each separately. The connection is done via the RS485 cable, and runs from meter to master, then to slave(s).
Will a RS485 cable work with a Deye inverter?
This is an RS485 cable with a specific RJ45 pinout that can be purchased in our online store. If you buy any random USB RS485 RJ45 cable on Amazon, Ebay, Takealot, etc. which doesn't specifically state that it supports the Deye inverter, it will most likely not work.
Can I use a RS485 cable with a Deye/sunsynk/Sol-AR?
This is a normal USB serial cable available from most electronic stores. When using this option, you will not be able to use the standard Deye/SunSynk/Sol-Ark dongle as the dongle can only be connected to this port. A purpose built USB RS485 cable can be plugged into the RS485 port located on the inside the inverter.
How many RS485 inverters can be connected in parallel?
Note that Meter connects to A2/B2 (pins 1 & 3)in the master, and the master communicates with the slaves on A1/B1 (pins 5 & 7). If connecting two RS485 cables in parallel, please use the provided Bootlace terminators. The maximum number of 3-Phase Hybrid inverters that can be connected inn parallel is 5 (five) – One Master, and up to Four slaves.
How does RS485 connect to a meter?
The connection is done via the RS485 in the Coms connector block(s) and runs from the meter to A2/B2 in the master, then from A1/B1 in the Master, to A2/B2 in the slave(s). (This is different from the single-phase configuration). Meter RS485 connects to A2/B2 (pins 1 & 3 respectively), and parallel out on A1/B1 (from pins 2 & 4 respectively).
How do I connect my solarassistant inverter to a USB port?
See the 2 in 1 BMS port On the SolarAssistant configuration page, select "Deye, SunSynk, Sol-Ark" as your inverter model. Select the USB port where your inverter is connected. If you have multiple inverters, you need to multi-select multiple USB ports.
