How does a PEM fuel cell work?

The gases are used to run a PEM fuel cell, producing on-demand electricity to power a load. The fuel cell’s only byproducts are heat and pure water, which is recycled for use by the electrolyzer. The only required input is energy to drive the electrolyzer—the water and gases cycle in a closed loop.
