How many MW of storage will Greece need by 2030?
The majority of the projects (2,650 MW) belong to Group Γ and will connect to ADMIE as follows per region. A key factor driving companies is that this large capacity will cover all the storage needs Greece will require by 2030.
How will Greece's energy savings scheme work?
The scheme will be backed with funding from Greece’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. A guide to the programme is available on the Ministry’s website. According to the government’s estimates, beneficiaries of the scheme will lower their electricity bills by up to EUR 3,000 per year.
Who gets subsidies for batteries?
According to the official program guide published in December, smaller businesses that install batteries will receive the largest subsidies, 50%. Medium-sized firms get 40% and large companies 30%. The beneficiaries are eligible for assistance with technical studies and connection to the grid.

How many MW of battery storage will be installed on the ADMIE grid?
These will be supplemented by the 4.7 GW from the ministerial decision, which pertains to commercial battery storage units operating in the market without subsidies. According to the decision by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, 3,800 MW will be implemented on the ADMIE grid plus another 900 MW on the DEDDIE distribution network.
How much a storage system is subsidized?
In both cases, only the storage system is subsidized. The size of the subsidy depends on the company submitting the application – the number of its employees and annual turnover. It is set at 30% of the system cost for large companies, 40% for medium-sized companies, and 50% for small companies.
