Where is Porto located?
On the north side of the river sits Porto. This is where you will find many of the churches, cathedrals, and museums, as well as the majority of the hotels and restaurants, and the train station. The historic center of Porto is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Vila Nova de Gaia, or simply Gaia, sits south of the Douro River.
